Matthew 14:30-31 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
What is fear?
Fear is an emotion induced by perceived danger or threat; it arises with the threat of harm either physical, emotional, spiritual or psychological. Fear equates to anxiety ,worry e.t.c.
Reading the above passage carefully, we will noticed that the disciplines were afraid facing the raging seas that were threatening to sweep them overboard But JESUS, walking on the water ,assured them,it is I; do not be afraid (matt 14:27)
Living in fear makes us compromise our faith, is the only thing that prevent us from achieving our goals.
That spirit of fear disable us from moving forward and causes us to shrink from doing what is right unless we have our eyes fixed on God. 2Tim 1:7.
From the account above, we can be assured that God doesn’t want us to allow fear take the place of our faith..
Recognizing the inevitability of trials ,he said ‘ in the world you will have tribulations BUT be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33.
In conclusion, do away with sin and every appearances of evil, activate your faith because that is the power you have with God, trusting the presence and power of Jesus in the midst of life’s storm in the antitode to FEAR. Hallelujah!!!!!
PRAYER Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you for your word today, Lord, in our weak and fearful moments, remind us that your love for us guarantee your presence with us and your power against our fears. Teach us o lord to trust in you, amen.
